JavaScript to hide left navigation from form in CRM 2011

Use this

Things below were applicable for CRM 2011’s CTP Version (unsupported)

We can use the following JavaScript to hide the left navigation pane from form in CRM 2011

function LeftNav() {

// hide the left navigation pane

document.getElementById(“crmNavBar”) = “none”;

// after hiding the crmform’s content panel moves to left

// to set it back to full width set the colspan

document.getElementById(“tdAreas”).parentElement.parentElement.parentElement.parentElement.colSpan = 2;

// show only information section in the form

// hide the related section and the table below it.

document.getElementById(“crmFormNavSubareas”) = “none”;

document.getElementById(“crmFormNavSubareas”) = “none”;

Hope it helps !

    1. Hi,

      I used the first part of this and it worked (hiding the leftnav). However, my Ribbon has now also disappeared.

      Any ideas?

  1. Hi,

    I was wondering, can we make it as a collapsible, like hide/unhide .. not totally hide it.
    If user wants he can see or hide .. same feature like 2011 sections have.

    Please let me know. I am looking for this solution from a long time.

  2. Hi,

    Is it possible to remove the notes from Tab and put it into Related -> Common Left Navigation Group. As i have a 6 sections already in the form so, it is very long scroll to go from top to bottom, to save the space i am thinking to remove notes from Tab and put it into Left Nav. I know how to remove Notes and Activities. But i want to keep notes for this entity but i want to show it in Left Nav Related section.
    Is it possible at all.

    I am also looking for this solution from a long time.

  3. /* This will remove the Left NAV items (Activities and History) that cannot be removed using the standard UI control. */

    function HideLeftNavActivities()

    In case anyone is looking to remove those elusive Activity and History Left Nav items…

  4. Hi,

    I want to customize the left navigation panel in dashboard with default collapse as false.

    For example (My Work Place group should be in expended form and Customers group should be in unexpanded by default).

    I want only first group as expended form and other all has to be unexpanded. Can be do it with customizations.xml file. Please help me ASAP.
