Customizing NewForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx pages for Lists.

Recently, I was assigned a task to customize the NewForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx for a particular list. The list was part of a site definition generated using SharePoint Solution Generator.

The reason we wanted to customize the page was because we wanted one custom field to be added (drop down list) that would display all the content types in that site.

    I am new to sharepoint devlopment,your blogs are very helpfull,am looking for an article like dynamically creating sharepoint controls on .aspx page by passing list name,I tried lot using BaseFieldControl class but it is giving error like controltemplatefield missing etc

        I m creating asp.net web site,in which i have one drop down which contains all the list names under my sharepoint site.when i select list name from drop down,i want to dynamically create controls on the same page for the user craeted fields in sharepoint list,
